Executive Producer of Dragon Age Announces Dragon Age Keep

Written by Barry Villatoro

In a post on BioWare’s Blog, Executive Producer of Dragon Age Mark Darrah, has announced Dragon Age Keep. Dragon Age Keep essentially allows a player to create their very own Dragon Age history. So, if you’ve never played the Dragon Age franchise before, your save file was corrupted or you want to tread down a different path, you can now do so with Dragon Age Keep. It seems very similar to what players were able to do, had they started playing Mass Effect 2 with no save file, but on a much larger scale.

Dragon Age Keep, which goes into beta early 2014 and is now taking beta applications, allows the player to create numerous scenarios within the Dragon Age franchise. Allowing the player to get it “just right” or giving them the option to have numerous and different playthroughs of Dragon Age Inquisition without having to play through the first two games.

Darrah also stated that Dragon Age Keep is an attempt to fix bugs that appear during save file imports into new games,

” DAO to DA2 brought across something in the order of 600 different data points, most requiring complex logic solving to answer correctly the question of “how did the player settle this choice at the end of the game.”  As a result, some current save imports are buggy, which is our fault, and something we’re committed to fixing. Permanently. The Keep allows us to do just that. Users of the Keep won’t have to suffer with these types of logic inconsistencies any longer.”

Dragon Age Keep will be available for everyone a few months before Dragon Age Inquisition launches.
