Demon’s Souls Servers Extended Yet Again

Written by Chris Lock

Great news for Demon’s Souls fans. The multiplayer servers have been extended yet again. Originally the servers were going to shut down at the end of May but not anymore. No word has been given as to just how long these extensions are actually going to last though. The speculation is that the servers will probably remain up until Dark Souls finally makes its way onto PCs. However that those are just rumors and anything is possible since Atlus has extended the server operation to nearly 4 years after its release. EA sure could learn a lesson or two from this fan service.

Tim Pivnicny, VP of Sales and Marketing for Atlus had this to say:

While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us in Demon’s Souls. For all the gamers who have yet to discover the game’s amazing online experience, we’re happy to say you can still log on and find out why Demon’s Souls is still regarded by many as one of the finest games of all time.
