Welcome to Dark Matter, a side-scrolling survival horror game being published by Iceberg Interactive for the PC. Dark Matter’s story is an interesting one. You play as an unnamed female awoken by a ships AI. The ship, Endeavor, was headed to examine an anomaly in space. Upon reaching the anomaly and broadcasting signals of peace, the anomaly responded with blinding light that killed everyone on board. After the blinding light came, parasites to feed on the human corpses. The AI’s purged themselves after trying to interpret the data of the event.
Now you awaken as an unnamed female. The last AI has awoken you in hopes that you can get the both of you back home. I’ve embedded the story trailer below for your pleasure.
Dark Matter’s weapons are nothing futuristic or unearthly as of right now. You’ll use anything from pistols to assault rifles and the game play seems to be slow paced as you’ll see in the trailer below. Hopefully this game shapes up to look better so we can enjoy a nice survival horror metroidvania game.
