Call of Duty: Ghosts’ First Single Player Trailer Certainly Impresses

Written by Austin Griffith

Activision and Infinity Ward this week released their first trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts and its single player mode… and oddly enough, it excited me.

I have to admit I haven’t been a fan of Call of Duty in recent years, ever since Black Ops I’ve felt very unimpressed and unexcited for new additions to the series that’s why when Acitivison sent me the press release for the new trailer, I didn’t even bother to open the email. I was watching television earlier today, when a commercial came on that piqued my interest. Astronauts getting blown out of a space station, gunfights in space, nuclear missiles, it looked like something out of a movie that I just had to see.

Then it dawned on me. “Is this… it can’t be… this is CoD?” I went up to my computer and watched it again. A dog takes down a freaking helicopter. If that’s not something you want to see then I don’t know what kind of life you’re living.

Really though, it looks like Infinity Ward really has changed everything up this time around and successfully done some innovating with the Call of Duty franchise. While I’m sure that the game won’t be the most ground breaking thing to come out this year, any sort of innovation from the Call of Duty is good enough for me.

The story this time around looks to be that the United States placed nuclear missile satellite stations in space, which were then used against them. Your squad, the Ghosts squad, is made up of what is left of the United States military after an opposing nation attacks. It looks comprised partially of yourself, your dog, Raleigh, and your son.

Take a few minutes and watch the trailer, I’m sure it’ll get you in as much anticipation as it did me.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches November 5th on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, November 15th on PlayStation 4, and November 22nd on Xbox One.
