A Virus Named TOM Update

Written by Raven Poplar

Misfits Attic has been busy preparing for the launch of A Virus Named TOM.

First, this game has you playing as a virus. A bit of code hell bent on the destruction of a retro-future Jetson’s-type world. This virus, as you may have guessed, is named TOM. The game plays like a 2D grid-based spacial puzzler and has you avoiding what I can only call antibodies. I assume they are little antivirus bits of code which are out to chomp some malware flesh. You go about and turn tiles to create a path of information that will eventually destroy whatever piece of technology you happen to be residing in. The local multiplayer allows for you and up to three of your friends to try to rip past custom multiplay levels, dealing with whatever enhanced ICE might be in your way.

Also, check out the badass launch trailer that Misfits Attic has just released!

The game has hit 1000 pre-orders, which isn’t bad for a startup indie developer.

This thing is going to be available on August 1, just about a week away. You can get your pre-order on at the official website, and the game will also be available through Steam and Desura. $9.99 USD isn’t a bad price for a devastating virus, is it?
