The Evil Within, the new nightmare fuel from the mind of the legendary Shinji Mikami will finally be released on August 26th. The Evil Within has been teased as a “return to form” for the Survival Horror auteur and looks to be a delightful blood carnival if all the pre-release trailers are anything to go by. Originally announced in 2012 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, the game will also be making the jump to Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Mikami, best known for creating some of the best entries in the Resident Evil franchise, is known for the horrific nature of his games and The Evil Within looks to be no different. Deformed creatures? Check. A stoic protagonist? Check. A giant monster-man with a bank safe on his head? Oh, you betcha! According to the developer this will be pure Survival Horror with limited resources, harrowing situations and unsettling images that will stick with you for days.
