Strider Remake Releases Early & Free!

Written by Matt Curione

WARNING: Download at your own risk, as Microsoft has banned users in the past for downloading this type of “Mistake Release.”

In what can only be described as an error on Microsoft’s part, Capcom’s remake of the classic action side-scroller has been released early and free! That’s right, if you can find it in the labyrinthine Xbox One Marketplace or someone on your Friend List has it, you can install Strider free of charge.

20140213-201342.jpg Strider, announced by Capcom at San Diego Comic-Con last year, was co-developed with Double Helix Games and has been in the works for quite some time. Double Helix knows how to make an extremely fun experience as evidenced by Xbox One’s Killer Instinct, the epic reboot of that long dormant franchise. Strider looks to be just as fast-paced and action-packed as the original games in this classic series.

First, add someone who owns Stryder (we tested it with the gamertag PAULINK) and compare games.

Find Stryder in there games library, click on it to view more then click “Play”

You’ll be brought to the Xbox One games marketplace, where you can then download and play the unreleased upcoming game 100% free. No word on how long this will work or if Microsoft will be taking it down, but if you want it, grab it while you still can.

This seems like a legitimate glitch on Microsoft’s part, so I would grab this release before it’s fixed. Strider was one of the few games I didn’t get to preview while at NYCC this past fall so make sure to keep your eyes glued to LevelSave for my impressions in the coming days.

Need a gamertag? We used “PAULINK”.
