Major Nelson is, well, quite frankly he’s toying with us. He’s tweeted something peculiar a bit ago: a tease back to the I Love Bees campaign. In case you don’t know, I Love Bees was a viral marketing campaign launched prior the launch of Halo 2 that served as an alternate reality game to hype up the launch. While I personally wasn’t around to experience it, it was one of the best ARG’s in history, gaining 250,000 views – a boatload in...
Halo will now be making it’s first appearance in the next-gen, via Halo: Spartan Assault on Xbox One. The 360 version will follow in January.Though this is not your grandad’s Halo, Halo: Spartan Assault is a twin-stick shooter. This version of Halo launched earlier this year on Windows 8 and the Windows 8 phone to mixed reviews ending up with a 71 on Metacritic. With the launch of H:SA on Xbox One, there is a full 1000 points of achievements available and co-op...

Update: Looks like this is just about confirmed. The news page reveals the following in its page source code: “< div id=”atvi-text-569261” > <p>Pre-order Destiny at select retailers and receive admission to the Destiny Beta. Play it first. Become Legend.</p>” That seems to be confirmation as good as any. Judging by that, preordering Destiny will most definitely grant you beta access on your console of choice. It would be silly...
The Destiny fans over at Reddit have discovered something very interesting over on Destiny’s official website. Users of the website who tried to access the sites “news” page via an abnormal link were greeted with a broken, improperly formatted page, at the top of which shows a new link to a “Beta” page. The link, which is currently dead and points to nothing, appears to be an early sign that Bungie will be releasing a beta of the upcoming game...
Halo 2 released almost nine years ago. Ten, next year. At the time of release it was one of the biggest multiplayer shooters of all time. Having sold more than 6.3 million copies, it is also the best-selling game for the original Xbox. And it’s time for a rerelease. With the coming release of the Xbox One and the ten years it’s been since the release of Halo 2, a large majority of players never experienced Halo 2’s online abilities, and without a rerelease...
Three years ago, I found out about an idea. A genius idea that I was surprised no one had thought of yet: a website that allows you to view and help people with Halo: Reach’s in game challenges. Designed, coded, and made completely from the ground up the Halo: Reach Challenge Initiative, or HRCI for short, is just that. A service that allows you to comment on different strategies for honing in on each days daily challenges. Two years ago, HRCI opened up from its public...
Halo 5 was just announced, and with it came a very cryptic trailer. We saw a hooded figure walking in a desert of sand or snow, alone. The figure was wearing robes, presumably to keep him warm or hidden. Something started to happen in front of him, rocks began to float and he looked down at a dog tag on the chain. This wasn’t a dog tag though, this was Cortana’s memory chip. The figure pulled back his hood to reveal it was none other than Master Chief. This is...
Bungie has released the first trailer for their upcoming game, Destiny. Set in a future where something (or someone?) has wiped out humanity, and only one great city remains under the protection of “the traveler”. You pick to play as either a warlock, a titan, or a hunter and fight to keep humanity safe and take back what was once yours. It’s truly one of the best looking games, and this trailer has now taken place as one of the best trailers I’ve...
Console Sales Console Exclusives Xbox 360: Like Halo the generation before it, Gears of Wars has been the killer IP that has driven the Microsoft 1st party sales more than any other in this generation. Gears has been the king of the cover-based 3rd person shooter genre and has been a trendsetter for other developers. RPG fans had a few things to sink their teeth into, Fable was a revered series until its later stages and the Mass Effect Series was exclusive up until...
