Austin and I got some hands on time with Namco Bandai’s upcoming death simulator Dark Souls II and I for one couldn’t get enough of it. This new entry in the Souls series looks to have everything people loved about both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls combined, along with a few new tricks up its sleeve. I decided to play my demo using the Warrior class that’s been prominent in the games’ advertising this far, think the Knight from Dark Souls and...
Europa Universalis IV, the upcoming empire building sim from Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studio releases this upcoming Tuesday, August 13th. However, if you just can’t wait and are in the conquering mood right now, a free demo has been made available via Steam. The demo features a full tutorial to get you started and will last 28 in-game years; just enough time to get the hang of the Venice trade system, go to war as the Ottoman Empire or even engage...
Ever since I watched the demo that was shown off at Gamescon I have been dying to get my hands on the latest installment in the Army of TWO series. The announcement that Visceral Games was taking over development and the fact that the game will be using the Frostbite 2 engine showed me that this series was making a huge push to be considered a top flight title. Luckily for myself and gamers the world over we didn’t have to wait until the March 26th release date to...
Army of TWO: The Devil’s Cartel is set to be released on 3/26/13 but players can get a taste of the game starting today (3/12/13) on PSN and XBL. The demo will take players from the bottom floor of a drug lab all the way to the top of the building showing off the intense gameplay the series has been known for. While this is the first time that Visceral Games has done an entry into the series it shows that they have done their homework and know exactly what fans of the...
With the way the original Infamous ended, some speculated that there would never be a third game. Those people were wrong. It is back, and, while a little low key for what the franchise is used to, looking really, really good. New protagonist, new antagonist(?), and what looks like a variation of some of the old powers from the evil side. But enough blubbering, check out this trailer and be wowed yourself.
For those interested in the new Metal Gear Rising: Revengance game, you can now play the demo. The demo, available on PSN and XBL, is not the segment I played at PAX Prime this past year but rather the “first chapter” although it does seem like it might be a it further in than that. While my first experience with the game was a little less than stellar the demo available reinstilled my faith in the full game. And now you too can play it and tell me that I am...
What the hell is going on today? First Mass Effect 2 being shipped in place of disc 2 for Call of Duty Black Ops 2, now Lego LOTR demo being shipped instead of the full game? After gameinformer reported on this, Andrew Reiner, editor for gameinformer went to purchase the game. He was told at one store that it had already been recalled. Apparently this only a problem for the Xbox 360 version, with the PS3 version including the real game. You know when you go to a fast food...

It is no secret that I did not enjoy the first Dead Island. I felt mislead by the amazing advertisement and promise of an open world zombie game. What I received was a series of fetch quests that actually made me hate zombies for a time. If I was not reviewing the game I would have just set it down and probably never picked it back up again. However, what I saw of Dead Island Riptide was enough to make me consider picking the game up, even with the sour taste in my...
