Lost Planet 3 Announced

The newest addition to the Lost Planet series has been announced and will introduce a new protagonist in Jim, a rig pilot who has left Earth to take on a lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Jim will be working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) who are attempting to prep the planet for colonization. Jim will be tasked with locating the the planets natural source of thermal energy and along the way will have to battle the treacherous terrain and indigenous Akrid.

Lost Planet 3 will deliver a diverse range of gameplay including on-foot battles and intense first person action. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 will delve deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique and dynamic environment of E.D.N. III.

Lost Planet 3 is being built using the Unreal 3 engine and will boast stunning visuals as well as a mix of 3rd person on foot gunplay and 1st person action inside Jims utility rig. Capcom has indicated the LP3 will support a “full set of mulitplayer modes” that promise to expand and enrich the Lost Planet experience.

The game is slated for a 2013 release and will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
