Rolling out worldwide to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 today is the first DLC pack for the critically acclaimed Borderlands 2 from 2K Games and Gearbox Software. The brand new DLC called Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty is available for $9.99 and is one of four planned DLC campaign expansions. The DLC packs can be purchased separately or together in a season pass for $29.99. All four DLC packs are scheduled to be available by June of 2013.
Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty features new story content as well as new loot and challenges. Player’s will embark on a quest in seach of ancient treasure and run into many unsavory characters and creatures along the way. It is Pandora after all. There are also new characters including a character named Shade. The new area, Pirate Bay, features locations like the town of Oasis and new enemies exclusive to the DLC like Sand Pirates and Anchormen.
Also available is the new expansion character Gaige, otherwise known as the Mechromancer. She summons a bad ass mech named Deathtrap to aid herself and her fellow vault hunters. If you pre-ordered Borderlands 2 from participating retailers you should have free access to her. If not she can be acquired for $9.99. Purchase of the Mechromancer will also grant access to “Premier Club bonuses including a free Golden Key and Lucky’s Relic.
