Women Enter the EA Sports UFC Roster

Written by Barry Villatoro

We told you about EA Sports UFC back when it was announced at E3. I for one was excited to see it since I’m a big fan of MMA in general and the UFC games especially. I was reluctant when I heard EA had taken the franchise over, but I’ll reserve my judgement for later.

Announced this week though, was the fact that for the first time women fighters will be added to the UFC’s roster, in the game that is. The full roster of women fighters has not be revealed but is being headlined of course by UFC Bantamweight Women’s Champ, Ronda Rousey. Her challenger this December and rival coach on the show The Ultimate Fighter, Miesha Tate is also being added to the roster.

Dean Richards, General Manager, EA Sports UFC said of the addition,

In our commitment to delivering the most realistic fighting experience ever achieved, we wanted to represent the full spectrum of talent and diversity of all the fighters in the sport, including women who have become an undeniable force to be reckoned with.

EA Sports UFC will becoming spring of 2014 to the Xbox One and Playstation 4. I now have a definite deadline to get one of the new consoles. Watch the video below to see an interview with Ronda Rousey by EA Sports.
