When the original Hotline Miami was released it snuck right past me. The talk of egregious violence surrounding the game pushed me further away from it still. Through a Humble Bundle it ended up in my Steam library and got itself a pensive click. I immediately understood the error of my ways and proceeded to fall deep into a psychedelic killing haze. Bragging time: I actually Platinumed the game on Vita. With the ferocious love I hold for Hotline Miami, it is safe to assume...
Having recently completed Dark Souls my hype glands are working overtime for Dark Souls 2. From Software captured lightning in a bottle twice and seems well on their way to doing it once more. But until its release we must feed on souls, er, trailers in order to satiate our dark desires. So enjoy the Dark Souls 2 Prologue 1 trailer. Judging by the title I assume there will be another very soon. Gamers who pre-order the game will be upgraded to the Black Armor Edition which...
Matt, Austin and I played a ton of Titanfall when the beta went live a couple of weeks ago. Before playing I was unsure about all of the hype surrounding it, then I played it. I found out that it wasn’t hype, it was for real. And if I wasn’t excited for Titanfall already (even taking some days off of work for it), here’s the launch trailer.
I adore horror games. Well, I say adore but what I really mean is that I hate every second of playing them but then months later I remember them fondly. My absolute favorite series was Dead Space, with its tight corridors and twisted necromorphs. What really drove the horror in Dead Space home though was the isolation. You were in space and, if I may rip the back of the box tagline “There’s No Help Coming.” Knowing that you were alone and that no one is...
Yesterday CEO and Creative Director from Ready At Dawn Ru Weerasuriya, posted a new trailer for The Order: 1866 on the Playstation Blog and gave some story details. This conflict that started centuries ago pitted mankind against half-breeds in a battle for survival. This became the catalyst for the noblest warriors of their time to come together in an alliance, an Order that waged war and held the line for hundreds of years. Through the centuries, their vigil has kept...
The Walking Dead Season 2 is almost upon us. With this release comes the typical trailer full of dramatic feelings and feels. The trailer contains nearly no spoilers, but if you want to stay completely in the dark, avoid it. The Walking Dead: Season 2 will be available starting December 17th and Steam users can Pre-order it for a reduced price.
Gamers round the world, some bearly awake, watched in dissipation to the Atlas Livestream this morning. Four new games were announced: Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth, a chibi dungeon crawler for 3DS; Persona 4: Arena 2, a sequel to the loved fighting game for PS3; and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is… a dancing game for the Vita. While those are all fine, Atlas waited until the beary end of the stream to announce the real juggernaut, Persona 5. No real...
I have to admit that I know very little about Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning returns. After this trailer I knew even less. What I can tell you is that these costumes change stats and abilities, similar to Final Fantasy X-2’s battle system. A lot of the details are not yet known on exactly how and what these costumes change exactly. You can bet though that I will be wearing that Cloud Strife costume as much as I can.
When Pokemon X and Pokemon Y were announced my excitement for the series took a nose dive. It basically boiled down to the devastatingly mundane look of the Legendaries. Seriously? We already have 2 legendary deer, their names are Cobalion and Virizion Did you just forget about them, GameFreak? But I digress, as my love for the game instantly shot up with the reveal of Mega Pokemon. Or rather, that a metric butt-load of Pokemon can achieve the Mega Evolution state. This...
Murdered: Soul Suspect, the upcoming “Ghost Detective” game from publisher Square Enix and developer Airtight Games was showcased this week at the annual Gamescom conference in Germany with a new trailer. Previously revealed at E3 2013, Soul Suspect has you taking control of Detective Ronan O’Connor, who after dying in the opening scenes of the game, has to track down his own killer as a ghostly apparition. The fact that you’re a ghost and can’t acutally...
