A Flower Like Storm is Coming to PSN, XBLA and PC

Written by Quaisha T

Flower, an indie game allowing a player to control wind to move flower petals through the air, was a spiritual success amongst casual and hardcore gamers alike. You took a break from popular FPS and action games to play something not of the norm and in return you literally got a breath of fresh air and renewed hope of original titles making you care about gaming once more. Now what if you could take that game and make it a side-scroller?

In the game Storm by Eko Software, though not intended to do so, looks like a side scrolling version of Flower. However, the player can use different elements to move seeds from grown trees to a specific destination across nature-themed levels. The concept is grand whereas manipulating the environment guides the seeds around the levels to advance. Players charge their elemental abilities by collecting power spheres. Use wind, water and lightening to guide the seeds. Here’s a quick gameplay video to ease your mind:

Update as of 11/16/2011:

According to Storm’s Facebook page, the indie game will be released for XBLA, PSN and PC in Summer 2011. That’s at least two years delay when first announced in 2009 with a rough beta of the game on indiePub.
