The fourth chapter of The Walking Dead games was honestly my favorite thus far. Easily understandable for the fact it was written by the mastermind behind the incredible film ‘Book of Eli’, Gary Whitta.
As with the chapters prior, The Walking Dead series molds to your choices within the story and in turn crafts a unique experience for each player. Choices have to be made within milli-seconds and each have a lot weighing on them.
Many times throughout this series I have regretted some of my choices but that is also what makes these games just so good!
With four hours of solid gameplay, the series is improving on cutting to the chase and less of a drawn out story.
In this particular chapter, Kenny is in search for a boat in hopes to get away from it all, and the group is led on by a mysterious man on the other end of a walkie-talkie.
Throughout this whole journey my heart strings were not only tugged but ripped out at the tasks given. I found myself cringing in my seat at such controversial and shocking parts of the game, there is no chance you can be comfortable with the situations this chapter plunges you in.
Nothing ever seems to get better for main character Lee who is now clearly becoming very desensitized to the “undead”. New characters are introduced and the story is very immersing, skimping on the puzzle aspect this time to focus on the emotionally charged gameplay.
Something that doesn’t seem to change with each chapter in Telltale’s Walking Dead franchise is the fact it leaves me wanting more after every episode. This time was definitely no exception.
