Firefall Begins Public Beta Testing

Written by Taryn Beach

We just recently previewed the massive multiplayer online shooter/RPG, Firefall and now Red 5 Studios has announced its first public beta weekend.  The public beta will run for 48 hours and starts this Friday, January 25th.  This beta weekend is the first of three online stress tests coming first quarter.  The other two open betas are scheduled for February and March.  The beta weekends are helping Red 5 Studios to move ahead with rolling the beta out for public release.  Vice President of Red 5 Studios said in a press release, “This will be the first time that we’ve opened up Firefall’s servers to everyone. We’re really looking forward to gathering a bunch of new feedback and data that will help us build up to launch this year.”

The free to play, not pay to win, MMO does provide micro-transactions but those are in the form of avatar customizations and things that do not effect gameplay.  There are no premium gates that will lock you out of game content either.  To celebrate their first public beta, Red 5 has released a brand new gameplay trailer for Firefall.  For more information on how to gain access beta access go here.
