Far Cry 3 Invades Minecraft, [Insert Block Joke Here]

Written by Austin Griffith

In what is arguably one of the coolest things I’ve seen done with the immensive hype of Minecraft, Ubisoft has released a texture pack and map for the PC version of Minecraft. Available for download and modded Michael Lambert (Sacr3, creator of Newcraft City), a well known Minecraft enthusiast, and artists Axel Janssen and Yohann Delcourt responsible for the textures, the Far Cry 3 inspired pack will be released for free on PC via the Far Cry official website.

They’ve also announced it’ll contain over 50 easter eggs and hidden secrets and I’m sure hours of fun with friends as well.

What’s surprising is that this has yet to be done before. I truly love this idea of modding Minecraft and turning it into a marketing tool. Everyone loves creating their favorite video game locations in the game, and the fact that Ubisoft took the initiative to create it themselves and then release it completely free shows there committment to Far Cry 3.

Now, who do I talk to about getting one of those mohawks? I’m serious.
